Applications are invited for the position of Technical Officer in the Council’s design office.
This position shall be accountable to the Design Office Manager for survey, design and estimation of civil construction works, participation in Council’s flood reporting service, contracts administration and asset management.
The appointee will ideally have a minimum qualification of an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, experience in industry construction office practices, experience in AutoCAD and a road design package, and significant experience in rural and urban road and stormwater drainage design along with excellent communication skills. Persons with lesser skills and qualifications but with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.
Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Queensland Local Government Officers Award – State and Burdekin Shire Council’s Enterprise Bargaining Agreement. The applicable salary is to a ceiling of Level 6 ($79,293pa). Commencing salary shall be dependent upon the skills and experience of the applicant.
