Lots of children have taken part in the free Baby Rhyme Time activities and stories on a Saturday morning at the Burdekin Library in Ayr over the years, but now the fun has moved to Thursday mornings.
Baby Rhyme Time is a free program of stories, songs and rhymes for children aged from birth to two years.
Burdekin Library Services Manager John Scott said Baby Rhyme Time was being held on Thursdays at the Burdekin Library in Ayr from 9.30am to 10.15am.
“It is also held in Home Hill and will be incorporated into Storytime on a Wednesday at 10.30am,” he said.
“As well as rhymes, Baby Rhyme Time engages the children with stories, music, musical instruments and colouring in.
“It’s designed to introduce young kids to the joys of literature and language. It also helps them to develop the skills needed to read and communicate.”
