One of Australian Rugby League’s legends, Shane Webcke, will attend the Home Hill Harvest Festival Ball next month.
Burdekin Shire Council Economic and Community Development Manager Tony Vaccaro said council had invited Mr Webcke to attend both the Burdekin Water Festival and the Home Hill Harvest Festival.
“Unfortunately he couldn’t make it to the Water Festival, but we are very pleased that he is able to attend the Harvest Festival,” he said.
“He will be going to the Harvest Festival Ball on Friday, November 9, where he will be helping present the winners of the charity and personality queen titles and also giving a speech.
“This is a great chance for Burdekin residents to meet someone who is a league legend and understands the importance of farming regions such as the Burdekin.”
Apart from being a league legend, Mr Webcke is also a publican, published author, public speaker, rural advocate, television personality and also is the Local Government Association of Queensland Ambassador.
