The Burdekin River is expected to reach a level of at least 8.0 metres at the Burdekin River Bridge at Home Hill late Wednesday evening.

Residents of Rita Island and Groper Creek should be monitoring heights.  Water is commencing to come onto the Groper Creek Reserve and Rita Island Bridge this evening.

It is not possible to accurately predict the height which outbreak waters will reach at locations away from the river banks.  The information contained in the Council’s Flood Reports relating to these effects, including predictions of effects at Rita Island and Groper Creek, are to provide guidance only.

A further bulletin will be issued at 4 PM on 20 March 2012.
