The Burdekin River is expected to reach a level of at least 10.8 metres at the Inkerman Bridge at Home Hill early Thursday morning. It should be noted that a problem at the Inkerman Bridge gauging Station has now been rectified.

Residents of Rita Island and Groper Creek should be monitoring heights as water is coming into Todd’s Break, Warren’s Gully, over Plantation Creek, over the banks at Tapiolas Break and McDowell’s and Ramsden’s on the Home Hill side, as well as farms in the Jarvisfield area.  Water breaks over the top of protective work at Todd’s holding up traffic on Rita Island Road at Jarvisfield School and on Kilrie Road at Lando’s.

It is not possible to accurately predict the height which outbreak waters will reach at locations away from the river banks.  The information contained in the Council’s Flood Reports relating to these effects, including predictions of effects at Rita Island and Groper Creek, are to provide guidance only.

A further bulletin will be issued at 4pm on Wednesday 21st March 2012.
