An opportunity exists for a proficient, skilled and talented Manager to harmoniously lead a restructured and dedicated team to meet community artistic expectations for the Theatre and Memorial Hall.

The Burdekin Cultural Complex Board Inc. is seeking applications to fill the position of Theatre Manager. The Theatre Manager is responsible for the entire operational requirements of the facilities, including staff management, events programming, marketing, finance, and resource management.  The Manager will be responsible for the strategic direction and promotion of the Burdekin Theatre and Memorial Hall under the guidance and direction of the Board.

The successful person will have confidence, experience and a proven track record in this role which requires high integrity, flexible hours, budget control, booking and programming events as well as asset security and safety.  They should also demonstrate a passion for the arts and cultural industry and possess excellent management skills including the day-to-day management of the venues and its staff.

The Burdekin Cultural Complex, houses a 500 seat Theatre, a 150 person capacity Music Loft, and an out performance Plaza.  The complex is the vibrant cultural hub of the Burdekin Shire, catering to all sectors of the community, with a mix of touring and community productions.

The Memorial Hall is an air-conditioned complex and is extremely popular as a venue for major balls, fashion shows, cabarets, dance nights, school formals and weddings.  The venue hosts a seating capacity at tables for up to 500 patrons and concert style of 1000 patrons. Modern dressing rooms are available and there is a front of house stage curtain, plus backdrops.  A smaller hall and meeting room for up to 30 people is also available.

Up to a 3 year contract with a total remuneration package between $75,000 to $95,000 p.a. (including 12% employer superannuation and based on skills and experience) will be negotiated with the successful applicant.  The package also includes 5 weeks annual leave.
