Job Vacancy 13/07 – Works Overseer

The Works Overseer is responsible for controlling the Council’s Works Department supervisors, day labour workforce and external contractors employed in the delivery of Council’s capital and maintenance works programmes and co-ordinating Council’s contractual obligations to the Department of Main Roads and Burdekin Shire Rivers Improvement Trust. 

This position will have direct involvement with the planning, development and establishment of the Council’s works programme, and contribute to the strategic long-term improvement of Council’s Works operations to enable Council to continue to meet its statutory obligations as a Local Government organisation.

The Works Overseer will exercise budgetary control for the capital and maintenance works programmes, depot operations, aerodromes and boat ramps.

A four year contract will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
