Burdekin Library to launch two new services

The Burdekin Library will next week offer residents a new eBook Service and IndieFlix streaming movie service.

Burdekin Shire Mayor Bill Lowis will launch the new services next Thursday (July 25) at 2pm.

Burdekin Library Manager John Scott said the services would be available to Library members from home as well as at the Burdekin Library Ayr.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for the community to enjoy IndieFlix, which is a collection of more than 2500 award winning films from around the world and they are suitable for all ages,” he said.

“Both the eBook Service and IndieFlix are being funded through annual grant allocation from the State Library of Queensland.

“As well as the new services, we also will be promoting our SMS messaging service, Tech Talks with John, which is now in its fourth year, and the State Library’s Looking at 2.0 online learning program.

“Residents are welcome to come along and see what we are doing with our eServices as we are excited about our new services and believe the community will embrace them.”
