Renovations to close Burdekin Library Ayr for a week in January

The renovations continue at the Burdekin Library Ayr with new shelving to be installed in the adult area.

Library Manager John Scott said the work would necessitate closing the library in Ayr from Tuesday, January 7, through to Saturday, January 11, inclusive.

“This work, which was funded in part by the State Library of Queensland’s annual grant, will mean the Library starts the New Year with fresh paint and new shelving,” he said.

“Whilst we recognise this is holiday time for many, it was the most appropriate time for the work to be undertaken.

“We apologise for the inconvenience to residents, but Burdekin Library Ayr borrowers will be able to use the services of the Home Hill Branch Library during that time.”

The Home Hill Branch Library hours are:

Monday      1pm – 5pm

Tuesday      1pm – 5pm

Wednesday 10am – 12pm and 2pm – 5pm

Thursday    1pm – 5pm

Friday         1pm – 5pm

Saturday     9am – 12pm

Mr Scott said the renovations to the library were a further example of the commitment by Council to provide a modern vibrant library service for the Burdekin residents.
