Burdekin   Shire

 

Bruce   Highway (Bowen – Ayr)
Seventh   Avenue – Reconstruction works

Completed   – Open to all traffic

All construction works along Seventh   Avenue (Bruce Highway), from Fifteenth Street to the Inkerman Mill tram line,   Home Hill, are completed with only tidy up works currently underway.

 

TMR would like to thank   motorists and the Burdekin community for their patience during these   essential works.

Rossiter’s Hill – Overtaking lanes
Anticipated completion: November 2013
The construction of this new   southbound overtaking lane, south of Rossiter’s Hill, is on track for   completion by mid-November 2013.

 

This project is between Home Hill and   Ayr, just north of the Giddy Road and McDesme Road intersection.

Motorists can expect minor delays,   lane closures and width and speed restrictions.

 

Advanced warning signs have been   erected to notify road users of these changes and motorists   are urged to slow down, be patient and obey all signage when   travelling through this project.

Sandy Corner to Collinson’s Lagoon – Road realignment
Anticipated completion – mid 2014
Hoey Road will reopen Monday 28 October   2013.

 

The intersection of Fiveways Road   and Bruce Highway will be closed for reconstruction, commencing Monday 28   October 2013.  These works will take approximately six weeks to complete   (mid December), weather permitting.

 

With all areas of this project now   under construction, it is extremely important that you do not exceed the   posted speed limits.  TMR ask all motorists to adhere to these   restrictions as Queensland Police regularly patrol this section of   the highway.

Pink Lily Lagoon – Reconstruction   works
Anticipated completion – late   October 2013
Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery   Arrangements works at Pink Lily Lagoon just north of the Haughton River   Bridge will be completed by late October.

 

Crews are currently asphalting and will   soon lay the final seal on this project.

 

Traffic controllers will continue   to direct traffic between 6am and 6pm and all motorists   are to pay particular attention whilst driving through the site.    Please drive according to the posted speed limits and drive to the conditions   of the road.

 

Width Restrictions – All excess   dimension loads wider than 3.5m are to contact Steve Coulter on 0408 066 443   or Chris MacDonald on 0429 413 912 a minimum of 24 hours prior to passing   through the roadworks.

Expected completion of these works is   late October 2013.

Woodstock-Giru   Road
Woodstock-Giru Road – Reconstruction   works
Anticipated completion   – November 2013
Works are nearing completion for the   Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements works along the   Woodstock-Giru Road.

 

The works are concentrated between   the Bruce Highway/Woodstock Giru Road intersection and Geary’s Road

Culvert works have been completed   throughout the site and stabilisation of prepared overlay is well   advanced

For the duration of the project,   motorists can expect delays of about 10-15 minutes due to lane closures and   speed restrictions.

 

Wide load restrictions of more than   3.5m are also in place and drivers are directed to contact John Cash on 0429   066 350 or Daniel Kennedy on 0407 157 785 prior to passing through the   roadworks, with notice to be provided a minimum of 48 hours in advance.
