Fall in love with the Burdekin Library

Love is in the air at the Burdekin Library with staff getting ready to celebrate Library Lovers Week next week (Feb 12-16).

Burdekin Library Services Manager John Scott said Library Lovers Week was a national celebration of libraries and residents were encouraged to visit their local library to see the services that were on offer.

“And as Valentine’s Day falls in Library Lovers Week, our staff will be giving out heart lollies and bookmarks to all customers who borrow books next week,” he said.

“We are also offering residents the opportunity to go on a blind date with a book.

“We’ve selected a number of new and popular titles and wrapped them so you don’t know what you are going to get.

“This book will be an extra book to the borrowing allowance.”

Mr Scott said Storytime, Baby Rhyme Time and Computer Classes were also up and running.

“We had 445 people come to our school holiday activities, which was fantastic,” he said.

“There is always something going on at the Library and we would love to see more people take advantage of what’s on offer.”
