The museum is developing a new exhibition based around what local people collect called ReCollections.

ReCollections is due to open in mid July this year.

The deadline for submission is at the end of May.

Entry Cost

Entry to the Museum of Tropical Queensland (MTQ) is FREE for residents of the Burdekin shire until June 2013.
Proof of residency must be produced on entry.

Opening Hours

The Museum is open from 9.30am-5.00pm, seven days a week. The Museum is not open on:

  • Good Friday
  • Christmas Day
  • The morning of ANZAC Day (25 April) – Opens at 1pm

The Museum recommends 2-3 hours to enjoy and explore the six public galleries. Covered shoes must be worn to participate in the cannon firing activity.

The main entrance to the Museum is on Flinders Street.
