Council treats seniors and pensioners to free concert

Burdekin Shire Council is treating the Shire’s seniors and pensioners to see The Judy Garland Story next week.

Mayor Bill Lowis said Melanie Parry’s tribute to the golden years of Garland had received world acclaim.

“This is a fantastic concert for anyone who remembers the golden years of Garland,” he said.

“Council will pay for the Shire’s seniors and pensioners to come along to this tribute and also enjoy a free morning tea prior to the show.

“I look forward to seeing our senior residents at the morning tea and I hope they enjoy the free entertainment.”

The concert will be held on Thursday, November 20 with a complimentary morning tea starting at 10am. The concert will begin at 10.30am.

Tickets are essential, so please call 4783 9880 to make a reservation or drop down to the Burdekin Theatre Box Office.

The Burdekin Theatre Box Office is open from midday to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Those attending may be required to show proof of residency in the Shire.
