Time running out to enter the Best of the Burdekin Photo Competition

Time is running out for photographers of all standards to enter the Best of the Burdekin Photo Competition.

Burdekin Shire Council Mayor Bill Lowis said there had been a few entries, but due to being a small file size some were not acceptable.

“There are a lot of talented photographers in the Burdekin and I would love to see how they can make the Burdekin’s beauty shine through their camera lens,” he said.

“We’re looking for all sorts of pictures that show the Burdekin region at its best – whether it’s a cane fire, sunset from Inkerman Hill, dawn over Upstart Bay, sun on the river or our wonderful produce.

“It’s basically up to the eye of the beholder, but the photograph needs to capture the essence of the Burdekin and submitted as a file of at least 2MB in size.”

Cr Lowis said the photos would be used by Council to promote the region through brochures, billboards, banners, websites, social media and various other marketing activities.
