Burdekin community groups urged to apply for Aurizon grants

Burdekin community groups and charities are being urged to apply for grants from the latest round of Aurizon’s Community Giving Fund.

Mayor Bill Lowis said groups involved in health and wellbeing, environment, community safety and education had until April 24 to apply for funding.

“This fund is open to not-for-profit organisations and is offering grants from $1000 to $20,000,” he said.

“Many of our community groups are finding it harder to fund their projects and this may be another funding avenue for them that they aren’t aware of.”

Aurizon’s Community Giving Fund is a biannual grants program providing cash grants to charities and non-profit organisations who are a registered Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) Item 1 endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office.

For further information, or to submit an application online, go to www.aurizon.com.au. Applications must be submitted before 5pm on April 24.
