Time is running out for Burdekin residents to take advantage of the 50 per cent discount on their pet registrations.
Burdekin Shire Council Coordinator Environment and Health Linda Govan said residents with dogs and cats had until Thursday, July 31, to get the discount.
“I encourage residents to take advantage of the discount and pay before the end of this month,” she said.
“There are even further discounts if your pets have been de-sexed and microchipped.
“Cats and dogs are required to be registered from three months of age and Council only charges for the cost of the tag – $7.80.”
Ms Govan said residents who believed they were entitled to further discounts than those displayed on their renewal form should contact Council.
“The fees on the renewal forms are based on the information council currently has on the animal or the pension card holder, so if this needs to be updated bring the appropriate documentation to council’s customer service centre,” she said.
Any pet owners who have not received a renewal notice in the mail or have changed address should contact the Council’s Customer Service Centre on 4783 9800.
