Interruption to Water Supply Railway Street Ayr between Burke and MacMillan Streets Wednesday 9th July 2014

Council will be undertaking planned scouring of the 375mm trunk water main servicing Railway Street from Burke Street to MacMillan Street, Ayr on Wednesday 9th July, 2014.

 These works will result in a loss of normal water supply between the hours of 9:00am and 3:00pm and will affect residents and businesses in lower Queen Street from Railway Street to Don West Toyota including Red Rooster, McDonalds and Country Ayr Motel).  Residents of Rossiter’s Hill, South Ayr and areas around Little Drysdale and Kennedy Streets will lose water supply.  Businesses at the Ayr Industrial Estate including Council Depot will lose water pressure or may lose water supply completely.  Rural properties along Klondyke Road, Wood Street and Robins Road areas will also be affected.

Residents are advised to store their day’s supply of drinking water before 9:00 a.m.

Residents in the affected areas may experience water discolouration for a period following the planned works.  It is advisable to delay washing of clothes etc., for up to two days after work is completed.

Council regrets any inconvenience that may be caused to residents as a result of these necessary maintenance works.
