Burdekin residents enjoyed a trip down memory lane today with hundreds having the chance to ride the Rail 150 steam train.
Mayor Bill Lowis and councillors welcomed the train on Sunday and had the opportunity to ride on the historic train from Ayr to Home Hill and return today.
The train, fondly known as Bety, is travelling up the Queensland coast celebrating 150 years of rail in Queensland.
The steam train was last in the Burdekin in 2009 as part of Queensland’s 150th birthday celebrations.
