Burdekin Shire Council would like to invite stallholders, sports organisations, businesses and fitness professionals to showcase their products and services at this year’s Burdekin Queenslnd Week Family Fun and Fitness Expo.
Burdekin Shire Council Community Development Manager Tony Vaccaro said the Expo would be held from 9.30am-12.30pm on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at ANZAC Park, Ayr.
“The Expo has become a family favourite in recent years; it just keeps getting bigger and better and this year will be no exception,” he said.
“We are looking for people to set up stalls featuring health, fitness or lifestyle activities, services and products.
“This event is a great opportunity for sporting groups, gyms and businesses to give demonstrations or get information to residents wanting to lead a healthy lifestyle.
“We really want this Expo to be a fun, but active day, for the whole family.”
Mr Vaccaro said the Burdekin Queensland Week Family Fun and Fitness Expo was aimed at increasing participation in sport and recreational activities, promoting healthy eating and promoting a healthy lifestyle within the shire.
“Our aim is to make the day fun for the whole family, but also provide some physical activity for all to enjoy,” he said.
“We would love all local health, fitness, nutrition and wellbeing groups, organisations, businesses and individual professionals to get involved in showing residents of the Burdekin how to achieve a healthy lifestyle.”
Anyone interested in taking part in the Expo should contact Council’s Community Development Team on 4783 9800.
The Burdekin Queensland Week Family Fun and Fitness Expo was made possible by a $5000 grant through the Queensland Government’s 2016 Queensland Week Sponsorship Program.
This is the fifth year Council has received this funding for the Expo and is pleased to once again be working in conjunction with State Government for the betterment of our community.
