Author holds children’s writing workshops at Burdekin Library Ayr

Popular Townsville children’s author Ian McIntosh will host creative writing workshops for children over the upcoming school holidays.

Burdekin Shire Council’s Library Services Manager John Scott said the Burdekin Library was proud to have such great North Queensland talent on hand to inspire youth to write.

“Ian has self-published two children’s books, his latest being Silly Socks, Sleepy Socks, and was a top three finalist in the 2015 NQ Arts Awards for Writing and Publication,” he said.

“We are very pleased to be able to have him here to deliver these three writing sessions for Burdekin children.

“The sessions are Inspire Me to Write, Characters & Stereotypes and Sizzling Starts.

“There is a cost involved to cover the session’s resources and booklets, but I would recommend you book early as these sessions will fill fast.”

The Creative Writing Workshops will cost $20 per child per session and will be held at the Burdekin Library Ayr on 21-23 September, 2016. There will be two separate sessions on each of the days – one from 9am until 11am for 8-12 year olds and the other from 12.30pm until 2.30pm for 13-17 year olds.
