Join the Burdekin Shire Council’s Community Garage Sale

Is your home cluttered? Would you like to make some cash? Pack up your excess and join the Burdekin Shire Council’s Community Garage Sale.

The Community Garage Sale will be held the Park Street cul-de-sac at Anzac Park on Saturday, October 22 from 8am until noon.

Mayor Lyn McLaughlin said the event was a great way for people to have a spring clean and make a little extra cash for Christmas.

“This is the second year Council has been a part of this event and this year we thought we would offer the opportunity to people to set up a stall at Anzac Park as a one-stop shop for bargains,” she said.

“The Garage Sale Trail is happening across Australia and all the sales happening in the Burdekin are listed on the Garage Sale Trail website so residents can map out where they want to go on the day.

“Council’s Community Garage Sale Trail has about 20 registrations to date and there will be food and drinks available for purchase.

“Council is encouraging residents, schools, community groups and sporting groups to set up a stall or host their own sale on the day.”

There is still time to sign up for this national day of garage sales which is powered by councils across Australia. For more information, please contact Melissah or Tammy on 4783 9800.  Alternatively, you can go to www.garagesaletrail.com.au
