Join the conversation on “what does sport do for Queensland?”

Burdekin residents are being invited to join Queenslanders in Conversation with the State Library of Queensland (SLQ) next week.

Council’s Library Services Manager John Scott said the State Library of Queensland was hosting the free event being streamed live into Ideas@108 on Wednesday, June 8, from 6pm-7.15pm.

“Kelly Higgins-Devine, from 612 ABC Brisbane, will host the conversation between panellists, audience members and online viewers,” he said.

“Burdekin residents can join the conversation by sending their question prior to the event and then it will be put to the panel for discussion.

“Queenslanders in Conversation will explore the effect of team rivalries, the part sport plays in our identity and history; and whether our sporting organisations do enough to include women and minority communities.”

Two of the panellists taking part are Brisbane Broncos Chief Executive Officer Paul White and former Australian sprint hurdles champion Fiona Cullen.

Anyone wanting to come along to the event at Ideas@108 on Wednesday night should contact John on 4783 9971 to book as numbers are limited.

If you have a question for Queenslanders in Conversation, send it to before the event or on Twitter during the conversation by using #belongingqld.
