ABC Open at the Burdekin Library

Burdekin Shire Council is excited to support another initiative of the Burdekin Readers and Writers Association in bringing ABC Producer Tom Edwards to the Burdekin Library on March 28.

The program encourages regional Australians to create videos or write stories to be published and broadcasted on ABC Open.

Burdekin Shire Council Mayor Lyn McLaughlin said Burdekin Shire Council welcomed the opportunity to partner with the Burdekin Readers & Writers Association to organise this event.

“Tom Edwards will present an information session on ABC Open’s current projects and outline how community members can become contributors,” she said.

“This is a significant opportunity for Burdekin residents to submit stories for broadcasting on the program. It will also help to put the Burdekin on the map as a region that values the importance of writing and digital storytelling.”

The ABC Open event will be held on Tuesday 28 March at the Burdekin Library (in Ideas@108). There is no charge to attend this event which will run from 9.30am -11.30am with morning tea provided.
