Bruce Highway, Queen Street – Asphalt Works

Burdekin Shire Council wishes to advise that asphalt works will commence in Queen Street (Bruce Highway), Ayr from Little Drysdale Street (McDonald’s roundabout) intersection to Kennedy/Bower Street (Don West roundabout) intersection, southbound lane only, on Friday 30th June, 2017, weather permitting. 

These works will be constructed under a full closure of the southbound lane and centre median turning lane, for the duration of the works. The northbound lane will remain open to all traffic. A temporary detour of the southbound traffic will operate from the Little Drysdale St roundabout, to MacMillan Street roundabout and south to Kennedy Street, where it intersects with the Bruce Highway at the Bower Street roundabout. Traffic controllers will be on site to manage pedestrian access to all businesses along the affected section of road. Footpath access is not be affected during the works. 

Motorists are asked to obey all directional signs and any instructions from traffic controllers or on site personnel for their own safety, the safety of Council’s and Contractor workforce.
