Stallholders have just a few days left to register for this year’s Queensland Day Burdekin Fun, Fitness and Lifestyle Expo on Sunday 4 June.
With a new location at Alva Beach Park and two new activities added to the program, the expo has undergone an exciting transformation in 2017.
Burdekin Shire Council Mayor Lyn McLaughlin said Queensland Day was an opportunity to celebrate all that was wonderful about our state.
“It’s the Burdekin’s way of celebrating the state we live in and the great lifestyle that comes with that,” Cr McLaughlin said.
For the first time, the expo will feature an Ayr Surf Lifesavers Fun Run and a 100m Dash for Cash.
There will also be food and drinks for sale, prizes and giveaways, free come and try activities and children’s rides.
Free health, fitness and wellbeing information will be available with special guests Caro and Kingi from ‘The Block’ set to emcee the event.
Cr McLaughlin said the Expo was expected to attract a wide array of stallholders, from fitness and sporting clubs to community groups and health organisations.
“Council extends its thanks to the Queensland Government for helping to make the day possible,” Cr McLaughlin said.
Stallholders can host a stall that is informational/promotional, they can sell memberships or fundraise for their club and are welcome to run competitions.
Anyone wanting to host a stall must return their expression of interest form by Friday 28 April. For more information or to obtain an expression of interest form please contact Melissah Lammon on (07) 4783 9800.
