Landholders had the opportunity to learn more about tackling pest plants when Burdekin Shire Council hosted a free demonstration day on 16 June with Morrow Tree Removal Specialists
About 15 landholders attended the session which was held at the end of Craig Street, Ayr.
The group learnt the saw can cut and poison trees at approximately 250 trees per hour. It is particularly useful in dense infestations of pest trees including Chinee Apple, Prickly Acacia and Parkinsonia. It will also pick through areas with lesser infestation levels.
The Morrow Tree Saw is attached to a bobcat on tracks and has been working at Jerona and Woodhouse stations recently. It has also been working in other adjoining shires.
