Request to Conserve Water – Ayr and Brandon – Monday 19th to Friday 23rd June 2017

Burdekin Shire Council will be carrying out planned water supply upgrade works to install a new electrical switchboard at the South Ayr Water Treatment Plant in Burke Street, Ayr. These works require the treated water storage reservoir to be taken offline for the week commencing Monday the 19th June 2017 limiting the production of treated potable water supply to businesses and residents.

As such, residents of Ayr, Brandon, Sutcliffe Estate and Alva are requested to limit water usage to essential purposes only to ease demand and assist to maintain uninterrupted water supply to the townships during this period. Customers are urged to refrain from watering gardens and lawns between Monday 19th June and Friday 23rd June, 2017.
