Sewerage Maintenance Work – Ayr and Home Hill Areas

Weather permitting, Council’s Waste Water workforce will be in areas of Ayr and Home Hill in the near future for the purpose of inspecting, cleaning and maintaining sewers and manhole structures.  Affected residents will receive a letter in their mail box within 24 to 72 hours prior to works commencing.

These workers will carry written authorisation (identification) from the Council and will present such authorisation on request.

These men may enter your property several times over that period to carry out works such as inspection of sewers and manholes, grouting, and painting of lids. Council requires the removal of all obstacles from around, and covering manholes for access.

Should you have any doubts as to the authenticity of persons entering your property and claiming to be sewer maintenance workers from the Council, please contact Council’s Customer Service Centre on (07) 4783 9800 between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday to Friday.

It should be noted that on most occasions, this work will be carried out only from Monday to Friday during normal working hours and the Council workers would normally be driving a Council vehicle.

It will be appreciated if dogs and other pets are securely restrained to allow Council employees unimpeded access to carry out their duties, and Council should be contacted if special arrangements have to be made for any reason to allow access to your yard.
