Burdekin Water Festival – July, August and September

Burdekin Water Festival Logo

The Burdekin Water Festival is a celebration of the abundance of water in our district.  It is one of the longest running festivals in Queensland, with the first festival being held on 6 September 1958.  The celebrations include a wide variety of exciting events that encompass the whole community.

The theme for 2013 – Tales of Enchantment - Fables, Fantasy and Fairytales – recognises the contribution of our local primary producers and the diverse cultural groups that make up the Burdekin community and will be reflected in the events, decorations and food on offer throughout the festival months.
