Visually Impaired

If you are finding the text on this website too small to read, then you may want to try:

  1. Changing the text size setting on your browser (please note not all browser applications support this feature).
    • Microsoft Internet Explorer
      1. Select "View -> Text Size" from the menu.
      2. Select either "Larger" or "Largest" from the list.
    • Netscape Navigator
      1. Select "View" from the menu.
      2. Select "Increase Font" (Netscape 4) or "Text Size" (Netscape 6)
  2. Changing the display settings for your monitor.
    • Windows 95 (or later)
      1. Open the "Control Panel".
      2. Double-click on the "Display" icon.
      3. Select the "Settings" tab.
      4. Reduce your "Screen Resolution" to "800 by 600 pixels"
  3. Using Microsoft Windows XP's Magnifier utility.
    1. Press on the "Start" button.
    2. Select "All Programs -> Accessories -> Accessibility -> Magnifier".

Web Site Search

A site search facility is provided on the bottom-left of every page of this web site. The facility will search all web and PDF documents within the Council's website. To use the search facility do the following:

  1. Type the keywords you are looking for into the search field.
    Example of a keyword search using "annual" and "report" as the keywords...
  2. Press on the "Go" button.

Portable Document Format (PDF)

Many forms and documents that are available for download have been created using Adobe Acrobat, and as such you will need a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and download these documents.

Adobe Acrobat Reader is free, and freely distributable, software that lets you view and print Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files. If you don't already have a copy, you can download it here [Get Acrobat Reader].

Java enabled web pages

Some web pages on this site may use java applet technology and require a java plug-in to be viewed. Windows XP service pack 1a upwards no longer supports the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine and is removing it from its product line. If you don't already have a java plug-in, you can download and install it here.
