General Details

The Media and Communications Officer’s role is to provide high-quality effective and efficient media support and customer service within Council and deliver quality services and products to engage with the Burdekin residents, ratepayers, stakeholders and investors.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Developing, maintaining and monitoring all Council’s social media assets
  • Managing Council’s communication tools, including Council In Focus, newspaper feature articles, internal publications, website, information and promotional material
  • Supporting the broader public relations and marketing goals of Council
  • Managing corporate branding
  • Providing promotional assistance to all Council departments
  • Improving communication and project management between community groups and Council
