  • Burdekin Show

    Fees and Charges for Ayr Showgrounds

    The Showgrounds including the main ring is available to hire for horse events, rodeos and circus type events.
    The Ayr Show Grounds Hall has a capacity of approximately 200 patrons seated with tables.
    A commercial kitchen and bar permits on-site catering. A PA system is also available for hire.

    The centrally located venue features the Main Hall with a capacity of 1000 patrons seated concert style and 500 patrons seated with tables.  Complete with stage and modern dressing rooms, a comprehensive sound and lighting systems can be operated by highly skilled technical staff.

    A commercial kitchen and bar permits on-site catering.

    The Minor Hall is ideal for smaller functions and meetings for up to 30 people.

    The Burdekin Theatre is the home of arts and entertainment in the Burdekin Region playing host to a diverse range of live performances, conferences, meetings, seminars, exhibitions and many local events.

    The venue features an impressive 472 seat auditorium supported by professional technical staff with facilities that meet industry standards.

    The Burdekin Theatre Foyer is a versatile space suitable for smaller intimate performances or cabaret style seating for up to 140.

    Functions for up to 25 people are catered for in the adjacent Music Loft or a large group seating in theatre style.

    The Outdoor Forecourt at the front of the theatre can accommodate up to 700 people for outdoor entertainment.

    The venue has a commercial kitchen available for hire and operates a licensed bar in conjunction with events.

    Burdekin Shire Council provides essential services to the community such as water and waste infrastructure, waste disposal, roads, parks and gardens as well as other non-essential services.
    The rates you pay allow council to fund these services.
    The rating year is from 1 July to 30 June. Annual rate notices are sent out soon after 1st July with payment due within 30 days.

    Burdekin Shire Council provides essential services to the community such as water and waste infrastructure, waste disposal, roads, parks and gardens.

    Other services include community, sporting and recreation, environmental planning, public health, environmental protection and waste collection, treatment and disposal.

    The rates you pay allow council to fund these services.

    Properties in the Burdekin are rated yearly and charges are based on property value and the services provided. i.e. garbage, sewerage, water etc.

    The rating year is calculated from 1st July to 30th June the following year. Annual rate notices are sent out soon after 1st July with payment due within 30 days.
