Story Time

Story Time mixes stories, rhymes, songs and crafts to help children discover the magic of reading. Story Time is perfect for children aged zero to five, but all are welcome.

Story Time is held at the Burdekin Library on Friday from 10.30am to 11.15am. Each week has a different theme that the stories and crafts are based on. No bookings are required.

There is no Story Time during the school holidays.

Wink and Blink

Every school holidays the Burdekin Library creates two activity booklets for children to take free of charge. Wink is the booklet for younger children and Blink is for older school aged children. The booklets are available from the weekend that holidays start and can be collected from the front desk at both the Ayr and Home Hill Libraries

Children’s Area

Both library branches have a designated Children’s Area. This includes:

  • Books
  • DVDs, CDs and CD-ROMs
  • Magazines
  • Comfy chairs and beanbags
  • Toys

The Burdekin Library has a Wii gaming console for use, as well as an iPad 2, blackboard and boardgames.
