Free Christmas Morning Melodies for Burdekin seniors

Burdekin seniors and pensioners are being urged to get in early for this year’s free Christmas Morning Melodies event at the Burdekin Theatre.

Burdekin Theatre acting Theatre Manager Cheryl Platt said the event, sponsored by the Burdekin Shire Council, would be held on Thursday, November 21, at 10.30am.

“Tickets to the performance are being offered for free to all Burdekin seniors and pensioners,” she said.

“This year’s performance is from The Spirit of Christmas. The show is a beautiful mix of traditional Christmas Carols mixed with some contemporary Christmas songs spiced with great Gaslight Company comedy.

“We are also inviting one of the local schools choir to sing along in the finale.

“It will be a great morning, so get a group together and come and enjoy the entertainment.”

Mrs Platt said the Friends of the Burdekin Theatre would offer a complimentary morning tea from 9.30am along with an early taste of Christmas.

Residents wanting any further information on the morning or wishing to book tickets, should contact the Burdekin Theatre by phoning 4783 9880.
