Children & Youth
Burdekin Library Services welcome children as borrowers. Children of any age can become members and enjoy the same borrowing privileges as adults.
Burdekin Library offers a wide range of materials which are available for use by children and their care givers. They include:
- picture books
- young fiction
- junior fiction
- young adult fiction
- non fiction
- music cd's and pc games
- audio stories
- DVD's and videos
- magazines
Young Adults Area: The Ayr Library has a place especially for Young Adults to sit and relax away from other parts of the library.
Children's Area: The Ayr Library has a special area for young children to sit, play or spend some quality time with their care givers. We have a small selection of toys and games that are there for the children to play with, we only ask that your children are supervised and that the play area is left tidy for other children.
Parents Collection: The Ayr Library has a section called the 'Parents Collection', which has popular books on parenting and care giving. These books cover areas from bed wetting to more specific areas such as Autism and Behavior Management.
