Treatment Plants

Both of Council's treatment plants are conventional trickling filter plants.

The Ayr/Brandon treatment plant has a design capacity of 14,000 EP with a design ADWF (Average dry weather flow) of 36.5 litres per second. The licensed discharge is for 3.5ML/day with BOD5 not to exceed 20 mg/L and non-filterable residue not to exceed 30 mg/L.

The Home Hill treatment plant has a design capacity of 4,800 EP and a licensed effluent standard similar to Ayr/Brandon with a licensed discharge of 1.2ML/day.
