The Water and Wastewater Operational Section of Council is responsible for the repair and installation of water meters, services, mains and hydrants in the Shire.
If you require a new meter to be installed, or if you are unsure if your meter is working correctly, please contact the Burdekin Shire Council office on 4783 9800 and your request will be logged in our Customer Request system. All customer requests are dealt with as soon as possible and you should be contacted within 1 hour of registering your request.

Please complete the relevant forms under the Water section of our Council Publications page. The relevent forms are to be returned along with any payment due to the Burdekin Shire Council Customer Support Centre during normal office hours of 7.00am to 5.00pm.
Council offers a 24 hours service for water and wastewater problems. If you ring after normal office hours, your call will be directed to a call centre who relay the message via a pager service. On Call Staff will contact you immediately and if urgent your request will be dealt with straight away. Non urgent requests will usually be dealt with on the next business day.
