Applications open for RADF grants

Burdekin arts groups are invited to apply for a grant from the next Regional Arts Development Funding round.

Burdekin Shire Council Chief Executive Officer Ken Holt said applications were now open for projects to be undertaken between July and December 2012.

“In the last round of funding, there were seven local projects that received a total of $19,000 in funding,” he said.

“This included dancing, photographic and poetry workshops as well as the Back to Clare Committee’s Pioneer Mural.

“This funding is a great way for local artists and groups to boost the community’s artistic and cultural awareness.”

The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between Burdekin Shire Council and the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland to support local art and culture.

Application forms are available on the Council’s website and need to be lodged by July 12, 2012.
