Seniors and pensioners get free tickets to Christmas Morning Melodies

Burdekin seniors and pensioners are in for a treat at this year’s Christmas Morning Melodies.

Burdekin Theatre director Les Alberts said the event was being sponsored by the Burdekin Shire Council and would be held on Thursday November 15 at 10.30am.

“Tickets to the performance are being offered for free to all Burdekin seniors and pensioners,” he said.

“This year’s performance is from The Beggars with a show named Bound for Australia.

“They will perform lots of well-known Australian sing-along songs such as Waltzing Matilda, A Pub with No Beer, The Road to Gundagai, I’ve Been Everywhere and a medley of Christmas carols.

“It will be a great morning, so get a group together and come and enjoy the entertainment.”

Mr Alberts said the Friends of the Burdekin Theatre would be offering a complimentary morning tea from 9.30am along with an early taste of Christmas.

Residents wanting any further information on the morning or wishing to book tickets, should contact the Burdekin Theatre by phoning 4783 9880.
