Burdekin residents who have not yet received their free emergency torch/radio can now collect one from the Burdekin Shire Council Chambers during business hours at 145 Young Street, Ayr.
Any residents who are unable to get to Council during business hours may send a friend or family member to collect their torch/radio, or contact our Customer Service Centre on 4783 9800.
There is a limit of one torch/radio per household, so our Customer Service Officers will request the name and residential address of each recipient for recordkeeping purposes.
Due to the expected volume of collections, we will not be able to test every torch/radio in this shipment. Anyone who finds their torch/radio doesn’t work may return it to Council for a replacement. Replacements will only be available while stocks last.
Free cyclone information packs, containing brochures, fridge magnets, important phone numbers, cyclone tracking maps and other useful information, are also available. For a comprehensive emergency kit checklist, go to www.emergency.qld.gov.au/emq/css/emergencykit.asp
