Applications are invited for two Approved Inspection Program Officers within Council’s Environment and Health section. Employment is on a casual basis for a period of up to three months.
The successful applicant will be required to carry out an approved inspection program within the Burdekin Shire to monitor compliance with the registration requirements of the State Government’s Animal Management (Cats and Dogs) Act 2008, Council’s Local Laws for Animals and to conduct surveillance for the dengue mosquito Aedes aegypti.
Applicants will be required to plan and prioritise their own work to meet deadlines and achieve the outcomes of the program. Good communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to deal with conflict situations is essential.
Salary and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Queensland Local Government Officers’ Award – State and Burdekin Shire Council’s Enterprise Bargaining Agreement. The casual rate of pay is $29.73 per hour.
