Burdekin Shire Disaster Preparedness Survey 2013
Get Ready Queensland is about building our resilience to deal with the extreme weather and natural disasters that are a part of living in our state. Its aim is to make Queensland Australia’s most disaster resilient state.
Resilience is about more than just good preparation or effective responding: it needs a mindset that accepts extreme weather is a part of living in Queensland, and prepares to handle it accordingly.
In the lead-up to the 2013/14 wet season, Burdekin Shire Council is surveying residents to gauge the level of preparedness and resilience in the community for a natural disaster.
Please take a moment to complete the survey by Thursday 24th October 2013 and be in with a chance to win a portable generator.
All survey responses with valid contact details will be in the running to win the major prize of a 3.6 kVA Portable Generator.
The major prize will be drawn at the Burdekin Shire Council’s – Get Ready Burdekin event on Saturday 26th October 2013. The event will be held at ANZAC Park from 12pm to 4pm and the winner will be announced on the day.
The winner will be notified and a post will be placed on Council’s website and in the Ayr Advocate on Wednesday 30th October 2013. (Note – only one entry per resident will be accepted).
The survey is available online until Thursday 24th October 2013.
