Burdekin Library patrons gain free access to digital magazines

Burdekin Library patrons now have unlimited access to more than 40 digital magazines.

Burdekin Library Services Manager John Scott said the library, in partnership with RBDigital from Recorded Books, now had access to Zinio for Libraries.

“This is a fantastic service which enables members to have free unlimited simultaneous access to complete digital magazines,” he said.

“We have selected a range of titles to cater to all interests and ages.

“The digital magazines can easily be viewed on any internet-enabled device at the library or from home.

“Zinio’s unique technology digitally recreates a magazine page for page, including full-colour pictures, intuitive navigation, key word article search and interactive elements such as audio and video.

“Australian Property Investor, Big League Weekly and Gardening Australia are just a few of the popular titles available.

“We are really excited to be offering this new service to our borrowers.

“We are really committed to delivering the best possible services to Burdekin residents and our Library users.”

Mr Scott said Zinio offered many digital products and services and created better ways for people to discover published content.

“Zinio provides the ability to shop for, search inside, read, share and save digital content in newsstands in any country in the world,” he said.

“Library staff will be happy to help out if patrons are unsure of how to access or use Zinio.”

Mr Scott said the service was made available through funding received from the State Library of Queensland.
