The rejuvenation of the Home Hill Comfort Stop continues with painting being done and roofs being replaced.
Burdekin Shire Council Operations Manager Wayne Saldumbide said painting of the exterior and interior of the Comfort Stop had begun this week.
“Next week work will begin on replacing the roof of the male toilet and shower block,” he said.
“Due to privacy and workplace health and safety issues the male facilities will be closed for use from May 28 through to May 31while the roof work is being done.
“Men will be able to use the unisex all-accessible facilities in the women’s block during this time. This facility contains both a shower and a toilet.
“Other toilets available for use by visitors are located at Arch Dunn Park, on the corner of Tenth Avenue and Tenth Street, Home Hill.”
Mr Saldumbide said council officers also had installed five new permanent picnic sets along Railway Avenue for use by visitors.
