Job Vacancy 14/12 – Quality Assurance Coordinator / Workplace Health and Safety Officer

Burdekin Shire Council is currently seeking applications for a Quality Assurance Coordinator / Workplace Health and Safety Officer.

The successful person will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the quality assurance and continual improvement system that covers all policies and processes within Council.  Quality assurance qualifications and/or experience will be highly regarded.

Facilitating, implementing and educating staff in regards to Council’s workplace health and safety program is integral to the success of this position.  Workplace Health and Safety qualifications and/or experience will be highly regarded.

It is essential for applicants to hold or be willing to obtain a Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment.  Professional learning and development opportunities are available to the successful applicant.

This position is a vital part of the HR Department, supported by a “hands on” Manager, and dedicated team.  This challenging career opportunity allows you to enjoy a relaxed and affordable coastal lifestyle just 85 kilometres south of Townsville.  With a staffing component of approximately 250 employees, this position will keep you motivated and busy.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Queensland Local Government Officers Award – State and Burdekin Shire Council’s Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.  The applicable salary is to a ceiling of Level 5 ($74,839pa).  Commencing salary shall be dependent upon the skills and experience of the applicant.  The package includes a 9-day fortnight, 5 weeks annual leave including loading, locality allowance and 12% employer superannuation.
