Applications are invited to fill a temporary vacancy on Council’s Environmental Health Team.
This position is responsible for providing innovative environmental health services to improve the health and well-being of the Burdekin community. Opportunities to be involved in projects including those in relation to natural resource management, coastal management and climate change exist for this position.
The successful applicant will have:
- Extensive experience in the environmental health field in local government
- Experience with managing staff to achieve required outcomes
- Experience and/or knowledge in pest management, vector control and aquatic weeds
Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Queensland Local Government Officers Award – State and Burdekin Shire Council’s Enterprise Bargaining Agreement. The applicable salary is to a ceiling of Level 6 ($82,306pa) with the commencing salary dependent upon the skills and experience of the successful applicant. Flexible working conditions include a nine-day fortnight, five weeks annual leave per year, 12% superannuation and locality allowance.
