Burdekin residents are invited to come along and celebrate the new-look Burdekin Library Ayr next month.
Library Services Manager John Scott said the official launch would kick off from 11am on January 22.
“We have invited dignitaries, including Minister for Local Government David Crisafulli and State Library representatives, to officially launch our new-look library,” he said.
“As part of the launch we will reveal our new library cards and bags and feature our new history section which is now open to the public.
“The official launch will then be followed by morning tea.”
Mr Scott said he and his staff were very pleased with the end result.
“This upgrade has taken a number of years to complete, but we are very proud of what we have achieved,” he said.
“Our residents will benefit greatly from the improved services and facilities we now offer.”
“During our re-launch week we are giving away 200 library bags packed with merchandise and signing everyone up with new library cards.
“All our library card holders will receive a new card, so make sure you come in get yours during that week.”
Mr Scott said there also would be a Special Guest Storytime with Tania Cox, The Dame and others reading for the children on January 23.
“Following this special Storytime there will be crafts, free face painting and drum fun on offer for our young library members,” he said.
The Burdekin Library Ayr Official launch is on Thursday, January 22 from 11am.
