Get snapping and enter the Best of the Burdekin Photo Competition

Burdekin residents are being urged to focus of the beauty of the Burdekin and enter the Best of the Burdekin Photo Competition.

Burdekin Shire Council Mayor Bill Lowis said this was an opportunity for all residents to have their photograph used to promote the Shire.

“We live a sweet life in the Burdekin and often take for granted the beauty that surrounds us,” he said.

“I encourage residents to grab their cameras and get snapping to show the world just how beautiful our region is.

“We’re looking for all sorts of pictures that can be used in brochures, billboards, banners, websites, social media and various other marketing activities.

“Photos need to follow the theme The Best of the Burdekin – this could be pictures of anyone or anything that captures the essence of the Burdekin.”

“Photos showing our agriculture, horticulture, sporting activities, cultural activities, fishing and recreational activities, landscapes and local events such as Tastes of the Burdekin this weekend.”

All you have to do to enter is take a photo save it as a large file 2MB-10MB, save it to a USB, CD or email it to .

The first prize is $200, second prize $100 and third prize $50.
