Burdekin residents have until Sunday (February 23) to take part in a Queensland Government online survey on the issue of alcohol-related violence.
Burdekin Shire Council Mayor Bill Lowis said the State Government was undertaking a wide and thorough community consultation as it seeks constructive solutions to this problem.
“I understand 13 people from our shire have already completed the survey, but more are needed to help the State Government fully understand how alcohol-related violence is impacting on our community,” he said.
“I would urge residents to take the time to participate in this whole of state consultation.
“A key part of this consultation is an online survey.
“All Queenslanders deserve to be able to go out and enjoy themselves in a safe environment and this survey will give government a better understanding of how to tackle this serious problem.”
