A colourful artwork depicting members of the Burdekin Machinery Preservationists at work was today presented to Burdekin Shire Council in appreciation of its support of the recent 6th Queensland Heritage Rally.
Burdekin Machinery Preservationists (BMP) members Alf Shand, Tom Callow and Peter Toomey delivered the artwork, which was painted by Cr Uli Liessmann, to Mayor Bill Lowis who accepted it on behalf of Council.
“This is a great memento of what everyone has described as a very successful event,” Cr Lowis said.
“Our local machinery preservationists, North Queensland Machinery Preservationists and the Pioneer Valley Machinery Preservationists did a great job of hosting the Heritage Rally.
“It was a fantastic event for people of all ages and I look forward to the next one!”
